Montu Muay Thai offers classes for learners of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned competitor, Montu Muay Thai has a class for you. Classes are for youth (12-17 years) and adults alike, with two classes a week dedicated to youth only.

Muay Thai - Bag Class

Through a repeating 6-week curriculum*, this all-levels class teaches the fundamentals of Muay Thai (punching, knees, elbows, kicks). Coaches emphasize spatial awareness and accuracy, integrate strength and conditioning, and drill sets. This class will get you moving smoothly in your body, prepare you for more advanced Muay Thai classes, and leave you with your heart pumping and endorphins racing!

Muay Thai - Pad Holding Class

In this class, students will learn basic techniques including how to strike pads (punching, knees, elbows, kicks) and work in the Thai clinch. This integrates implementing footwork and how to communicate with a training partner. This class is in the progression from the Muay Thai Bag Class. Students must have moved through the repeating 6-week curriculum* in the Muay Thai Bag Class and have permission from the coaches before taking this class.

Muay Thai - Youth Class

This all-levels class is specifically for our 12-17 year-old students. The format includes a combination of bag work drilling Muay Thai fundamentals, and pad work building capacity to train with a partner. Coaches integrate the physical work-out with “mat chats” that build community through discussion of mental health, goal-setting, and individual check-ins.

Muay Thai - Intermediate/Advanced Class

Upon developing their skills in the Muay Thai Pad Work Class, students may progress to this level. Students will begin to learn the concepts of Muay Thai as a sport and implement these techniques through pad work, partner drills, and light technical sparring to further refine their understanding of Muay Thai. Students must have permission from the coaches before taking this class.

* Repeating 6-Week Curriculum

Our coaches have created a 6-week program to introduce, practice, and embody the technique of Muay Thai. The focus is on technique, rather than power and aggression. Muay Thai can be thought of as a powerful, fluid dance.

Each week emphasizes a new skill, building on the previous week. Students can jump into the program at any point; it cycles every 6-weeks. Our goal is to have students cycle through this program until they have mastered the techniques.

  • Week 1: Boxing

  • Week 2: Low kicks

  • Week 3: Knees

  • Week 4: Round kicks

  • Week 5: Teeps

  • Week 6: Elbows
