Terrence Moore
President/Founder
Terrence grew up in Amarillo, TX and started his martial arts journey training Muay Thai in 2011 and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in 2012. He has competed professionally in Muay Thai tournaments in the U.S. and internationally, including Thailand and China. He loves the hyper-focus, intensity, and discipline of training, and it has been a lifelong dream to create Montu Muay Thai for teens and adults. When he’s not at Montu, you can find Terrence running his other Boulder business, Rev Kombucha, DJing, or hanging out with friends.

Eve Hinckley
Chief Operating Officer/Founding Board Member
Eve is a New England native and came to Boulder via the Bay Area in 2009. She has been a long-time competitive athlete, with time as a swimmer, dancer, and triathlete. More recently, Eve began training Muay Thai and enjoys the beauty and precision of learning the technique. Eve is a professor at University of Colorado, Boulder, and runs the vibrant Environmental Biogeochemistry Group. When she’s not helping to keep Montu running smoothly, you can find her dancing, cycling, pushing big weights, or having a great time with her friends and two kiddos.

Wes Argrow
Vice President/Founding Board Member
Wes moved from Oklahoma to the Boulder-Denver area in 2009. He began boxing, and competed for a few years before moving on to competitive Muay Thai. Wes also holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He’s competed in several prestigious tournaments, including IFMA, TBA nationals, and WKA nationals. He loves collaborating with other athletes and having friendly rivals. Wes is committed to training individuals across ages and abilities at Montu, and loves the focus on mastering technique. Outside of his work at Montu and as a data analyst, Wes is a big fan of game nights with friends, including poker, board games, and Magic the Gathering.

Jackie Macias
Community Outreach Specialist/
Founding Board Member
From Puebla, Mexico, Jackie now lives in Longmont and began training Muay Thai at Easton Training Center with Terrence and Wes. At Easton, Jackie competed in Muay Thai, taught adult kickboxing classes, and served as the department head for the children’s program for 2 years. Jackie believes deeply in the mental and health benefits of Muay Thai, as well as making it accessible and affordable for all. Her focus at Montu is helping to spread her love for the sport and engage the broader community. In her spare time, Jackie loves to listen to podcasts about funky subjects like paranormal stuff and metaphysical themes (ask her for recs!), walking her dogs, spending time with her family, and going to movies and concerts.

Gerard Melendez
Coach
Gerard grew up in New York City and joined his first Muay Thai gym, WAT, in downtown Manhattan. He trains in Dutch kickboxing and MMA and has competed in 7 fights with more to come. Gerard feels like the best version of himself when he’s getting ready to compete, and he loves to share the beauty of the sport with others—one of his favorite parts of coaching at Montu. Outside of coaching and training, Gerard loves being outdoors, watching fights, baseball, and football games, and enjoying stand-up comedy shows.

Kirana Bergstrom
Coach
A Seattle, Washington, native, Kirana began training Muay Thai and fitness kickboxing three years ago in Boulder. Currently, she competes at an amateur level in kickboxing and Muay Thai and had her first official fight in November 2025. She enjoys pushing herself at training camps and the feeling of “about to jump off a cliff” when she steps into the ring to compete. Kirana is especially passionate about getting women into the sport. She loves to get to know her students and help them to develop their skills from novice level to expert practitioners. When she’s not coaching or training, you can find Kirana climbing, hiking around Boulder, hanging with her cats, or watching scary movies with friends.

Doug Castro
Coach
Doug came to Boulder from La Puente, California, to attend graduate school at University of Colorado, Boulder. He started training Muay Thai at OMNI almost two years ago, has competed in point Muay Thai, and plans to train for more point and “smoker” bouts in the future. Doug likes to use competitions to gauge his Muay Thai skills and see where he needs to improve. He loves the challenge of prepping for competition, including fight camp and cutting weight. As a coach, he finds creative ways to teach his students technique, to share his appreciation for the sport, and to build the Montu community. When he’s not doing science, coaching or training, Doug enjoys cooking, producing, calligraphy and graffiti, and DJing.
